GOOD ONE

for some reason.. I seem to become the collector of old point dwell meter and timing light devices... anyone that knew I fixed cars seem to think I might need them... after 6 each.. I hand them back

that's OK,,, I still have 2 working VTVM's ( Vacuum Tube Volt/Ohm Meters)... for the younger sets.

I have replaced tons.. on cars and trucks.. over 50 years... maybe a 1,000, no joke.

in the 1970's you were lucky to get a tie-rod end last 3 years or 40,000 miles....
just like Brakes, tires, wheel bearings, water pumps, almost every part needs replacement.. at some point.

OLD Guys.. remember tune-up every 12,000 miles with Points..... ! and I am 66 years old.... so I am not talking 1900.

back in the day.. you were lucky to get a NEW truck to last 100,000 miles.. Gas or diesel...
you mean I Finley met someone who I can talk cars too........

I told my children my 1st truck had the choke on the dash, it was cable driven.......they looked lol puzzled and said “ WHATS A CHOKE?”

LMAO......

Points to a 32 Ford, would fit anything.......

you can ask his for a point file.......that will really blow his hat in the water.....

point files... steel or fiberglass.. I still have both

chokes with hand operated cables...... classic.... before heat and/or vacuum controlled..

like mechanical linkage for (3 ) 2bbl carbs.....
or (2) 4bbls.... aka duel quads.
what about the "Vortex Magneto "... or Duel Point distributor... without vacuum advance...
I go back to the 348 and 409 days... I was a pro-wrencher.. and weekend drag racer since 1967
also played with a few 352 and 390's and ONE 332.. a 1959
I know.. I have derailed another thread... like a 4884.. for all you steam locomotive fans .

Those old point files can be "repurposed" as finger nail files. They will last forever!
