What tire size are you guys running on your 2wd with stock suspension. I have a 79 swb 2wd with a 300/3spd. I need tires but I want something that fills the wheel well and looks good. I still have factory 15 in rims
We used to fit 33x12.50x16.5 tires to the 3/4 and 1-ton trucks all the time without any lift or modification. But the F100 should be different, if even by only a little. So not sure exactly what will fit without rubbing.
But if they still make any 32x11.50x15's, that would likely work.
Same for some metric stuff of course. Maybe a 265/75/16 (almost a 32-ish by 11 tire) would be the ticket.
You still have 15" wheels? Or have you gone to some other size?
And maybe I missed it since I'm relatively new here and you've been posting away for a few years now. But why do you call your truck a "Highboy" in your signature?

If you're referring to Jklnhyd I'm pretty sure his "Highboy" signature is a joke.
As for moneymike's question, I have 30" tires on my '75 F150. My F100, before I lowered it, had the common 235/75r15 size on it which is about 29". They both have/had fairly large gaps. I think they both had about 3" gaps on the front, from the top of the tire to the lip of the fender.
Here's the F100 with the 235/75r15's (29"). I would imagine 31's would have filled up the wheel wells pretty good had I gone that route. 33's might fit, but it looks like it'd be a tight squeeze up front.
I just replaced rim and tires on my 1975 F-250 Ranger Camper. Made the switch from 16.5 rims to 16 and fit Cooper 265/70R-16’s. I wanna say they are about 31” tall and 10.5” wide. They fill the well nicely.
Worth mentioning, the taller tire will make the truck feel slower (and turn less RPM). To keep similar performance you can install a numerically higher rear end gear.
with 15" rims your options are limited. 31-10.50R15 will be the most common (in that height). Anything larger will continue in flotation sizings, ie: 33125015 etc. and you wont just find them at any regular place. I can verify a 285/50R20 to fit fronts, they are equivalent to 31.2-11.2R20. So as you see, 31" Diameter is the sweet spot. Tiresize.com is handy to play around to look at equivalent sizings, especially if you are looking to change rim sizing.
I just went back to 235 x 75 x 15 on original steel wheels.
There is plenty of room to go bigger and fill the well, but im working on lowering it and this was my tire of choice. Pictures are with a stock 2wd suspension
