Soft doors for 1972 bronco

Recently purchased 72 bronco. Hard doors need some work and it came with a BesTop softtop.

Looking to buy soft doors but order not to add inserts. I'll use hard doors again.

Any advice? Years ago I had a CJ5 with soft doors nothing fancy and they worked fine.

Thanks

I believe all of the currently available soft doors require the use of the door inserts.

What do the hard doors need?

The soft doors require an insert on a Bronco.
You could probably make them readily removable though.....

They are only screwed into place w/ 2 inch screws along outside edge and pop rivets or short screws along inner edge.
There are also 1 piece inserts and multi piece inserts on the market today.
The multi piece are more like the originals. They have metal backing plates on the inside.

The newer style soft doors fit inside of the insert's opening, but if you can find the old style, they fit over the outside of body and probably keeps water out better.

"...if you can find the old style..."
yes, several co,s made them. Cant remember the co.s

U could bend up some w/a tube bender & cover them ur self.
Hinges, catch etc frm other makers...
Once made there's B others 2 buy & cover ur prototype costs.

If you're just looking for nice half doors, Duff's sell nice half tube doors with a metal cover.

But you can get a two piece full door.
This is what I was referring to:

I think this is your only shot if looking for new.

I'll need to get something like this too, but am concerned with rain getting in around perimeter of the door.

You need to add door inserts to make those doors work, I thought the original post did not want to add door inserts.

can't remember the 2 or 3 co.s

guwan over to CB to look in "4 Sale" or post a new thread (requesting the co.s names frm the '90s).
Least U might get some names (Bestop might have bought out oneada co), pic, old catelogues (some have been scanned in) to design up ur own (bout 5 yrs ago some 1 over there wuz makin up/sellin em) or actual doors.

Thank you for the advice

Hard doors fully rusted out on bottom, typical hardware not working

i just need to take the hard doors off and regroup

I see great prices on bronco doors on specialist sites

thiught the soft doors doors would be easy interim solution.

Thanks again
