Yeah, it's been tough to watch.
Hopefully we will find a good solid coach that we can keep for many years.
Dave, you are dating yourself here. I won't post Devany's coaching years to protect the old folk....unless you were just a kindergartner back then.
I’ve lived in Lincoln Nebr (Devany was the coach back then), Chicago - went to Illinois and now live in Kentucky all three college teams suck! Plus the Bears always suck eggs. Even Green Bay my life long favorite team are hurting. The only one I can have any hope with is KY basketball

Good ole Pius is still here, just a lot bigger. Good to have another Nebraska connection. And by the way I was born in 1960.....sorry just had to do it. Thank you for your knowledge and experience. It is invaluable to all us youngsters (57)

Dave - Pius had 300 students when I was there. I moved to Elmhurst IL and the school had 5000 students before it split. Pius would fill the football stadium every Friday night from end zone to end zone 20 rows deep. Every parent, aunt, uncle and relative would show up. York had wooden bleachers 10 rows deep 30 yards long and they were never half filled. On Saturday everyone from school would be at the Univ of Nebr games as we got in to the end zone seats for $1. Devaney took them to a bowl every year.

York High School! Well of course the football stands were empty. Cross Country is where it's at in York. Just double checked Joe Newton retired in 2016 after 61 years of coaching at that high school with 44 state trophies (28 state titles)
They made a movie about him and the program.
The Devaney and Osborne years are a hard act to follow. Especially with such intense fans as Nebraska.
Boy now we have really hijacked the thread.

I'm not a big 10 expert but why a playoff if Wisconsin is undefeated and Ohio St is 8-2 with winner take all. Must be a different kind of math there...

The NCAA is working toward 5 or 6 Division 1 conferences across the country. It will make the playoff easier to manage and find a true #1 in the country. The SEC now has 16 teams used to be 8. Same with the old Big 8 is now the Big 12 the Pac8 is now the PAC 12. All of these may end up with 18 -20 teams within a few years if the NCAA has their way. Hope that helps.

Big 10 Math. Because there are 14 teams in the conference, there are two divisions (East and West). The Division winners are playing for the conference championship. Big 12 and SEC have similar setup.
