If your truck if falling on its face in 2nd and 3rd, you had better get it checked out. There isn’t a faster gas powered 3/4-1 ton on the market. If your looking for the fastest 0-60 times, keep your 3.73 gears. If you drop to a 4.30, you will have a 2-3 shift before 60, slowing it down, unless you have @35inch+ tall tires. The lower gear is great for light throttle normal acceleration, it makes it more effortless in the lower rpms. It also helps hold 5th and 6th better. There was a member that had his truck dynoed with and without his 5* tune. It made a big 2 HP. But what it will help is transmission shifts and strategies and a lazy throttle. CAI are a waste of money. The factory exhaust is plenty large enough with good flowing sweeping bends. You may find a few HP in aftermarket set ups, but you will never feel it. About the only place I️ can think you will find measurable power at a reasonable price is an electric fan conversion. And who wants to do that to a brand new truck? 10k for a supercharger. 6-8k for a custom turbo set up. Thousands for a cam swap, if they are compatible with the 17’s.
And a gear swap should be in the +\- 2k for a 4wd.

Call up the guys at 5star tuning and explain what your looking for and they will help you figure out a tuning strategy. Tuning is the cheapest way to go unless you plan to re gear and that's about 2k+ to do. Lots of guys have thrown tunes on their trucks and been more than happy with the results

If that is the case I'd much rather spend 300 on that pedal commander than 600 on a "tuner".

Unlike a tuner, the peddle commander does not effect the transmission. A long with eliminating the throttle lag, a tuner will help with acceleration times through faster firmer shifts. There are some things a tuner does with timing to pull out a few(literally) HP out of a gas motor. A tuner can also help the driving experience with throttle input before a downshift. Then there are the the things a tuner can do, such as pull codes, tpms programming, tire size program, gear programming.......
I was going to get a peddle commander, but in the end, after thinking, a tuner is a better value, just have to wait on warranty to expire, Atleast I am anyway.

I have never even entertained the thought of acceleration times and a 7000lb truck, haha.
If I want to experience fast acceleration I'll steal the wife's twin turbo charged 535 BMW....
I like the idea of the Pedal Commander because, correct me if I'm wrong, I could remove it if necessary for a warranty issue and no body would be non the wiser. I think.......
