heater moter

1971 f250 camper special, was getting ready to reinstall the heater unit so i thought i'd test it before installing it, i have power going to the motor single wire plug however i can't get the motor to run, it was running before i took it out. the other wire coming from the motor i assume is a ground, what am i missing? maybe motor went bad, i painted it 4 months ago and it's been sitting around since, any ideas? wouldn't simple motor test be run wire from battery to motornwire and run wire from neg to ground wire coming out of motor?

The blower motor is 12 volts DC. Connecting a 12v source directly to it should make it run full speed.

If you have the polarity backwards, it will just simply make the motor/blower spin backwards but, if the motor is good, it should run regardless of the polarity.

The foam was from the insulative lining inside the plenum that's dry rotted, crumbling and falling off the diverter.

That little chunk of foam was more of a spacer too hold the little heater core forward inside the heater box.

I've read that, It was to take the place of the larger missing Heater radiator core in place.

But with had being said, I've never seen or found one for sale at any auto parts store.
