Leaking EBPV Valve Question/Different than other EBVP posts
I notice a burnt oil smell Sunday night so I popped the hood on my 99 F350 7.3 and noticed the valley full of oil. I check the oil level and it was low so I decided to limp down to the Auto Zone for oil and while on the way the truck start missing badly and white/grey smoking heavily before I made it. Pulled in and topped the oil off, 4 quarts low, fired it up and the problem was the same although with the added oil I could see the oil leaking down my pedestal out of the EBVP rod hole. I have purchased a new pedestal with EBVP for my truck and plan to replace it tomorrow but my question is, can the EBVP leaking badly cause a running smoking issue? I am worried that I have two separate problems at the same time but am hoping that replacing the pedestal will fix both.
And to clarigy, I have read many other posts about the EBVP but have not seen one that outlines the issues I am experiencing and that's why I am asking. I am also aware of the about the delete it but have chose to keep it so I bought the factory replacement style pedestal.

Here's a caution about installing the cap for the EBPV rebuild kit: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post17233178
The rest of the thread has quite a few pics that you might find interesting. They include the use of mirrors, UV dye, and oversized pics.
They could help you picture where and how a number of parts fit together and identify potential leak prone areas.
Good luck!
