Service Advancetrac, Check Brakes persistent alarms

The cluster comes out real easy. When you get it out you will see what I am talking about. NO, you don't run any screws through the circuit board. Yes, it is a solder joint issue. But you cant get to the circuit board unless you remove the gauge needles which I wasn't about to do.
Its not as simple as removing one cluster and replacing it with another. The cluster has the PATS code info in it and another cluster has to be programmed to talk to your PCM let alone the mileage reading which is stored in the cluster.
Oh, and the back of a 10 cluster is the same as an 11.

I found new instrument clusters on line; some OEM suppliers could not set mileage on them, but a Ford dealership out of Florida would, so I go the part from him. It arrived Friday, I put it in Saturday. We're improved, but not fully fixed. I'm no longer getting the 'Service AdvanceTrac' alarm, but I am still getting 'Check Brake System'. Initially, it was coming on for just a block or two and going off, but last night and on the way to work today, it was pretty persistent. Guess I'll head back to my mechanic friend and see if any codes are getting generated. WXboy, I'll have to look up EPAS faults. That's a new one on me.

I did the correct fix by removing the cluster and disassembling it down to the circuit board. The main connector solder joints were minimal to non existent. I touched each joint with a solder iron and some solder and reassembled the cluster. Problem solved. The needles were a bit tricky to remove, but not bad once I figured it out.
Ford must have had a bad batch of boards for this to be an issue.
Hope this helps.

No one said anything about clusters being interchangeable between years. I would think someone looking for a cluster would look for one the same year as their truck. Forscan may work but looking for a cluster with "close to the same mileage" is cheesy at best.
There are two ways to fix it, the right way or Olytlr's way. Your choice.

Jacob77 - Did yalls ever when taking off go to about 25 mph and stay there and wouldn’t speed up/switch to 2nd gear. Mine just started today.
