If you had factory mirrors, then no, nothing you can do. Then again, if you had factory mirrors you probably wouldn't need to.
With aftermarket mirrors like those, the two screws will tighten it up. And then it'll loosen up again and you can retighten the screws again. And again. And again.
The only downside to factory mirrors is they're stinking expensive. I paid a dealer $300 for a pair of new ones for my '97. It stung a lot at the time, but I sure love having mirrors that stay where they're pointed and don't vibrate.

The mirror head came with the mirror, but it was also available by itself.

We tried putting some DEF on that little ball, and let it sit. No better.
We tried dimpling that little ball with one of my good small center punches. It dulled the point! WTHeck do they make that little ball out of???
Tonight we wrapped a small cotton strip around that little ball and soaked it in DEF. Tomorrow hopefully its smooth surface will have been attacked by the urea in the DEF.
Will report back....
