2006 f250 sd no reverse or neutral

just bought the truck symptoms are no reverse, when in gear hit the gas pedal and the rpms go down , put it in neutral wants to drive , shut the key off put in neutral I can roll it back , when I start it in neutral goes in drive , no more neutral again need help

The forward clutch isn't releasing. Usually, that's a result of a severely overheated clutch, to the point of where the clutch is welded together. I think it's time for a rebuild.

friend told me that yesterday too I was going to drop the pan and see if there was any metal in there, and change out the 7 solenoids . I checked Colum and undid cable so I can shift trans manually , I saw that the owner put new transmission lines and external filter I think they dropped the pan too I can see gasket sealer the truck has a plow 104,000.on it ,is the clutch replacement big job

by the way its a 5.4 , trans; 5r110w ,automatic 4x4 shift is on the floor

Whatever floats your boat. I predict it won't fix your problem. If I'm right and the forward clutch is burnt up the contamination from that clutch will probably ruin the new solenoids. So when you rebuild the trans to fix this problem you'll need to replace the solenoids again.

The way to replace the clutch is to take the trans out of the truck, completely tear it down, and do a full rebuild.
