'46 silly engine swap idea
My family and I recently pulled my grandpa's old '46 1/2 ton pickup out of it's shed after having been there for 40 years. It has an old Flathead V8 which is cracked and locked up, and we're looking to replace it with another one.
While looking through the local listings I noticed a '49 F8 dump truck with the 337 Flathead which had been parked in the shed for 3 years for $1500. I'm wondering what I would need to do if I wanted to drop the 337 in my grandpa's pickup. Would it even fit? Could I use the springs from the '49 to help support the added weight of the new engine?
I am aware that extra parts can be difficult to find, but to me it would be worth the effort of finding parts. Thanks for reading!

We will be rooting for you as you go through it. It would be REALLY fun to watch and learn from your experience with the big flathead V8. Thank the lord above you didn't suggest a 350 crate motor.... OK, they're practical, but most of us here are way beyond practical. That's for accountants and our dads.
