I have a 2004 F150 and one of my friends is getting rid of his 1996 I believe expedition and I want to know it has the same size front end as my F150 so that I can get the brush guard off The expedition and onto my truck.

No It isn't

 

1997 was the first year for the Expedition, so I'm assuming you mean it is a 1997 Expedition. If you had a 10th Gen F150 (1997-2003 + 2004 Heritage) I believe it would fit as the 1st gen Expedition (1997-2002) shares its front end with the 10th Gen F150, but if your 2004 is an 11th Gen "New Body Style", I highly doubt it will, as the everything is different from the sheet metal down to the frame.
