254 Gaskets and Seals

Is there anywhere I can get gaskets and seals for a 254? Would it take the same as a 226 other than the head gasket?

Every 226/254 gasket in these upper & lower truck parts catalog pics are the same except the head gasket and the sump gasket.

Oil pan pic (upper): 6700 & 6701 are also the same, as is the 6710 pan gasket. The 6626 screen gasket is also the same as 239 flattie.

But, I did not look in the car parts catalog to see if the truck gaskets were the same.

I got my gasket set through NAPA, and snagged a NOS head gasket off Ebay. The only gasket you won't be able to find is the lower sump gasket, but it is easily made.

I found 2 of the 8EL-6698 254 sump gaskets NOS (see pics in post #2). But, no Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has the 254 head gasket (8MTH-6051-A), there's none on ebay either.

No such 6695 basic part number shown in the pic or listed in the text for a 226/254.

The only 6695 the parts catalog lists is 8EQ-6695-B .. Sump Assy for 1948/51 337 flattie.

The black star next to the number: Obsolete

Since the part was obsoleted, the part number was dropped from the catalog.

Pic: Here's the 1948/56 catalog, final printing 1964. No 6695 listed except for 8EQ-6695-B for 1948/51 with 337.

Yeah, it looks like they dropped the whole 254 engine.

We need to get someone to make a 254 head gasket. It shouldn't be much harder to make than the 226 or any other head gasket.

Have you tried Olson's? They have 254s listed. They had the only new oil pan set I could find for a "G" series 226.
