Moog 844 coil spring swap

I know this has been done, but I felt like posting it since I don't recall any of the threads done were of Broncos. This was a very simple, straight-forward swap. I purchased the springs from advanced for $80. I went with part number cc844. There is a part cc844s but I heard some people had trouble with those fitting. That and from what I read its only a 1/4 inch difference in height and a few hundred lbs. more capable. Anyway on to the pics

Not a huge difference but enough to level it out which is what I was going for. I forgot to measure before and after but I'd guess around the normal 1.5-1.75 inches that the guys get with these. For the cost I don't think you can beat that deal.

No I forgot to measure before. I know I have measured before and it was at least 1.5-2 inches lower in the front. Im gonna measure here in the morning. Also the thickness of the cc844 springs and how tight they are wound makes it alot more difficult to tighten the lower retainer. Have to use a wrench and a fairly slim offset one would be best IMHO.

I am wanting to do this mod to my '89 F-150. Are they difficult to change out? Do I need to get a spring compressor, or worry about the springs flying out at me? Thanks.

Nope no special tools needed. Just take the tire off and undo the shocks then take the bolts off the top and bottom of the coil it'll come right out. Obviously you need to jack the truck up too lol.

They have a slightly higher weight rating and are .25" taller. So the description from Moog says.

I love the look and feel after the 844 swap. It raised it up yet, kept the stock feel. Not all hard like a normal lift kit. I went with Rancho shocks.

thats good..did you need to have it aligned afterwards? im thinking about going with monroe shocks load adjusting shocks..something a lil stiffer and mayby help with body roll turning.

I did not get it aligned. I should but it tracks straight right now.

I'd look into replacing the sway bar bushings, that really help tighten up my Bronco's front end.

You won't be disappointed, this mod is one of my favorite things I've done so far. really "beefs" up the look of the truck.
