Will a 99 F250 Fuse Box work in a 2000 F350?

Hope someone can lend a hand.

2000 F350. Started with an ABS light ON issue. I lost the usual speedometer, turn signals and wipers. I checked the sensor in the pumpkin and was rdy to replace it when I decided to check the fuse box. All fuses are good but I noticed if I put pressure on or tap the fuse box I can toggle the light on and off.

Checked all fuses. Replaced ABS fuse#15
I pulled the fuse box and cleaned/blew out all connections
Swapped relays around. Nothing changed
Only appears to be effecting this ABS circuit. Everything else works
No signs of water or rust that I can tell.

So here's the question. I want to replace the fuse box and I have a late 99 donor truck for parts. Part numbers are different, and I know I will need to swap GEM modules, but will it work?

Trying to dig up the 99 manual to compare circuits and fuses.. Thanks **Edit** Looks like the 99 Fuse Box is a no go. Fuse 2 is different between the two. 2000 is Airbag and 99 appears to be instrument cluster, PCM etc! Back to the drawing brd.

Subscribing.

You may be able to if you could figure things out. Here is a link from a GEM cleanup. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ater-leak.html

You might be able to disassemble yours, clean it up and make it work. I had mine off and tooled around with it a little but not quite to the extent that 2112RUSH did. What those fuses do is a function of the block connectors that attach to the rear of the block and may or may not be related to what they do in the fuse block itself. In other words, if you substitute that later block fuse #2 might still work your instrument cluster, it would depend on how those pieces inside run.

And are sure that pressing on the fuse box doesn't break the connection that lights the light rather than fix the problem?

Hey Walleye,

Thanks for the response and link.

Not sure, once the key is in the ON position and the ABS light drops out (normal) I can put just a small amount of pressure on about any of the fuses and get the ABS light to turn ON. And the opposite is true. If the ABS light stays ON I can do the same to get it to intermittently go ON/OFF.

I have jiggled the main block connectors and cables but nothing toggles it but pressure on the fuses. I did notice tapping the GEM toggles it also. Seems the GEM is more sensitive.

Just took out the GEM and cover off. Nothing obvious just a lot of surface mounted chips. Maybe I have a cold solder joint on it but without a replacement I don't know.

I'll check out the link.. thanks again man.... you
