1949 Mercury M68

Hey everyone. Looking for a bit of insight/opinion. Due to some unforseen circumstances, I may be selling my 1949 Mercury M68. The vehicle is registered in my name but cannot be insured until it has been restored. The truck runs. It has the original flathead. Truck has 71,000 miles on it. Very minimal rust. The problem is I have no idea what the vehicle is worth. Just looking for some opinions as to the price. It would be tough to see it go because it’s been in my family since the early fifties but I just don’t have the time or resources to build this truck. It would be a shame for a truck like this to sit in my yard and rot away. Thanks for any input

In the Canadian market its worth a couple of grand , more if you have all the Mercury trim . Bottom line is the old saying (its worth whatever you can get for it)

Without the box (assuming you don’t have it?) it is worth less than with it. With the flathead running and the cab in apparent good shape I’d say between 2 and 5, depending on how badly someone wants it. But I’ll agree with Allan - it’s worth what you can get for it.

Your truck looks to either have escaped the usual rust spots, or someone has already fixed them? That's not the original engine, or at least the heads are a '52-'54 vintage EAB, makes me wonder if the mileage is correct? Your truck was originally a flatbed, with the short running boards. I think you will do a little better than most, like said it depends if you have all the Merc trim. Maybe C$3k ? Could be more.
