I'm proud I can still walk so I leave those spots to people who really need them. The valve core thing does actually work, good metal valve stem caps will hold the pressure preventing the tire from going completely flat. Its a good compromise for persistent and habitual offenders. Way nicer than an ice pick through the tire shoulder that couldn't be fixed.

Seriously though, there are some folks that only think about themselves and it shows!

I cite and tow.. usually on this kind of violation I would have the tow truck waiting and hook the car and drive off... if the driver comes out before the tow arrives they get a 942.00 parking ticket...

If they actually are disabled then they can tell the judge why they need two spaces.. and even if handicapped isnt a get out of all laws for free card.. they can only violate, with impunity certain vehicle code parking laws.. taking two spaces isnt one of them

In California it's so out of hand... youll see jacked up trucks with 40 inch tires and some young person jumping out of them sporting disabled plates

This is a pet peeve of mine.. these should be reserved for disabled older Americans and vets... and occasionally that person who is demonstrably disabled

Damaging the vehicle is as others have said..plain stupid and would make one a bigger criminal than the offender

I have to admit that I'm a bit sensitive to this sort of thing. My wife's brother is disabled, and so maybe I've been conditioned. I know how hard it is for him to get around, and he's a really nice guy. People that may (or may not) have been doing this for innocent or other reasons just kind of gets my hackles up.

Agreed all the way around.

The problem here is that this 'driver' has been repeatedly towed from these spaces, if you believe what has been posted.

That pretty strongly suggests to me that either the individual is abusing some LEO privileges or has some sort of brother in law deal with the towing company or storage lot. In other words, just like the USAF and FBI in our last two mass shootings, someone with responsibility is not doing their job.

Id get a couple of buddies with floor jacks and move it right over against the side wall then park another handicap car about 1" from the right side. I'd wear gloves too.
