Ordering a SnugTop for 2018 KRSB. With our 2017+ SD having keyless entry, keyless ignition, door touch pad buttons, etc., has anyone chosen the keyless FOB option for the SnugTop? What I'd really like is to have the SnugTop lock/unlock exactly as if it were a factory installed door, regardless if I use the FOB, the 5 entry lock buttons on the side of the door, the door lock switch inside the door, etc. SnugTop dealer says "maybe" but he'd need to install extra wiring in the doors, run it here and there, $$$, etc. Anyone do this mod yet?

 

I have a new Snugtop Xtra Vision that was installed in September. I chose the pro-lock that uses the key fob from my truck. It works well, but only unlocks from the key fob. It doesn't unlock with the door handle or tailgate sensor.

 

I have the Xtra Vision as well. My shell locks and unlocks with the door button or key pad. The dealer ran a wire and tapped into the wire harness at the back of the spare tire. I assume it's the wire that operates the tailgait lock. This is the best option for the new toppers. I always used to forget to lock any topper I have had manually and I keep a ton of outdoor equipment in the back of my truck at all times.

 

I'll check mine to verify it locks when the door handle locks. Thanks for the heads up.

 

Thanks All. SnugTop dealer here did reply that he wires from the driver's side passenger door lock. So any event (FOB, outside keypad, inside door lock/unlock switch) that causes the driver’s side passenger door to lock/unlock will also lock/unlock the SnugTop. This is exactly what I want. Super Sport bed canopy with pro-lock on order (also got some extra LED lighting mods that are triggered using the same concept that whatever switches the truck bed lighting to come on will also switch on/off the SnugTop lighting). Practically factory.
