Flatheads in Auburn IN

Took a road trip to see the museums in Auburn IN. Here are some pics from the Early Ford V8 Foundation Museum.

They are in the process of a major expansion. I’m looking forward to returning when they finish it. A lot of good reference material there.

MuseumS, plural? Wow, cool. I've only been there twice (side trips from Ft. Wayne), last time about 20 years ago, all they had was the Auburn/Cord/Deusenberg museum. Sounds like it's really expanded. So are they fixin' on building a replica of the old Ford Rotunda? The original burned down when I was just a wee lad, so I have no direct memory of it. That should be interesting.

Their pamphlet shows 8 museums. We took in 3 and an antique mall. Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is a must see. National Auto and Truck Museum has a Futurliner, a lot of muscle cars and a basement full of old mostly international trucks. A replica of the Rotunda is incorporated in to the design of the expansion. I don’t know what completion date they’re shooting for but I intend to return next summer to check it out.
