Update on my situation: F2TF-JB is definitely the WRONG ecm/pcm for this truck. I got a better scan tool, and found it was throwing MAF codes (this truck doesn't have MAF). Live data completely did not work. Bought a F3TF-12A650-KA from rockauto, swapped it in, and everything works as it should. Idles much better, and live data shows the MAP sensor (and every other sensor) is functioning properly. I can only assume PO had some caps burn out, and looked online for cheapest ecm that said it fits, and threw that in there. It's amazing the thing was running at all.

That wasn't the cause of the extremely low power, however. The cat was clogged. That's been fixed now as well. Truck is running like new.

Thank you everyone for the info you provided.

Without looking real hard, 2 might have been answers, F2TF-JB, could have been a Cali ECM, or OP found in junk yard, like you said, on the cheap side. Do you remember the code #'s it was throwing, that lead you to believe it was MAF, and not MAP?

I don't know what the number was. I got my hands on a snap on scanner and it looks everything up for you. But there were issues beyond any codes thrown like I said. Live data would not even read.

Correct ECM?

First time logging in, looking for correct ECM for 1989 F250 5.0.
Calibration code is 9-54S-R10. Any information would be greatly appreciated. My 16yr and I are working on his first truck. One of the PO’s replaced with a reman and just trying to make sure we have the correct one. Thanks in advance.

For Calibration code of 9-54S-R10.
Number on unit would be E9TF 12A650-AJ1A, or AJ2A.
Ford part number was E9TZ 12A650-AJA.
