ZF6 Questions--Whining more than I would like

I was going through old threads. I like to do that from time to time for updating, to see where I have been, what I have done, and see older travels. I just wanted to update this thread and say I still have that tiny whine, but I have never had any issues. The only odd thing is that it does not do it in 4th gear. It's been 50k miles since I reported it last, so I have all but forgotten about it. I did do the overfill when I changed the fluid, which has been done twice now. I gotta say I LOVE this damn transmission. It is so stout and has served me well. I have a small inkling that my clutch is chattering at me for some reason, but I'll handle that if/when the time comes. I had my driveshaft done recently with all new U-joints, carrier bearing, and balanced. @Sous kinda gave me the idea a little earlier this year, but a bad carrier bearing made it happen.

Byron, check out my clutch chatter threads on our YouTube channel. The link is in my signature.
You might be able to see hot spots on your flywheel via the inspection cover if that is what you are seeing.
I too enjoy driving the ZF6 every time I get in the truck. I have a T-handle shifter and like having the L gear available to me whenever I want it. The only time I was struggling with the ZF6 was when my parking brakes were crap and wouldn't hold anything. I have since corrected that by taking matters into my own hands and now they hold very well, even with the 5th wheel attached. I get 18.5 MPG unloaded and 13.5 MPG with my 5th wheel attached, I am good with that all day long.
A lot of people don't like the ZF6, but I am not one to go with the mainstream anyway.
