Motor looks good but it's painted the wrong color LOL
Should have taped up the crank snout, put and old oil filter on and maybe cover the fuel pump before painting.
What is the intake valley like, painted also?
You will have a hard time with the balancer and you don't want paint inside the motor.

Balancer installed w/o issues... no paint inside engine or valley doing any harm anywhere... not worried one bit.
The engine is complete with mild Ford racing cam, roller rockers and duel rolling timing chain... etc.... and ready to install & run.
The Heads were off my 66 Mustang GT, enlarged the exhaust and ported with press in studs replaced with threaded... actually they worked great but I just had to have those aluminum twisted wedge heads on the Mustang... LOL
That is Ford engine red... although its a 289, we thought it was proper to paint it as a Y-block might have been in the day.

Funny how we forget... thought I had the oringal stock crankshaft pulley from my ‘66 Mustang 289 as well as the Alt Bracket... Nope... can’t find either. So I had to order a new bracket (ACP black) and took a chance on a TuffStuff 7068K 1-Wire alternator (140amp) in the process. I also can’t find the darn water pump pulley either... I replaced all these with billet pulleys and figured I’d hold onto them knowing I’d be using them again... then now i cant find them... LOL.
Time for a drink...

Sorry... not sure what happened... had an update and when I resized the gigantic pic of the vent window.. it deleted itself.... so I will rewrite later..
I had to circle back and then find it two lanes over... and of course finding the stainless steel frames in good condition is ... well, you know.. but i was able to find a pair of black on auction site for a good price.
So now we move to tackle the steps...

Things progressing along nicely... (thanks Justin). removal and replacement of the steps.. .then a good scrubbing... I decided (since my 16 year old football player will be using this as his daily driver) to go with Rhino bed liner for the interior floor and steps... give a great grip plus it is tintable... I really like how this turned out.. was able to make floor repairs w/o rewelding cab corners up front... and the cover looks fine.. will likely use black rubber floor mats as well.

On the steps. Did you cut out all the spot welds from underneath? Or did you use a cut off wheel and cut off the top?
