Hello Fellow ford owners, having problems joining a 460 to BW T19. I pulled the engine to replace seals and gaskets. When tring to reinstall the engine just couldn't find the sweet spot.
I jacked up the front of the t19 to improve the approach angle of the input shaft to clear the studs on the engine to the engine mount pedestals. No luck.
Judging by the flywheel starter ring and the edge of the bellhousing i was with in a half inch or so. The fingers on the clutch pressure plate were in direct contact with the throwout bearing as well. I wiggled and pushed no luck.
Next i am going to unbolt or lossen the transmission mounting bolts to see if i can improve the angle or just slide the transmission back so i can get the engine mounting studs past the cross member.
I am writing this with the question dose the slave cylinder need to be opened up to allow for that 1/2 inch gap to be closed? Any tips and or tricks would be helpfull.
Hello all, well got the engine mated but had to disingage the slave cylinder at the bell housing. This is were you guys list come in.
Is it possible to bleed the stock 1985 hydraulic clutch system? Its the ONLY way i can figure to get the rod in the pocket on the throwout arm?
It appears to be a closed system. Has a allen head plug? Any help ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
for those out there in a similar situation as i was in. The Allan head bleeder screw in a plastic clutch slave cylinder is 5/32. I hope this helps those out there in the same situation. Thanks everyone for the feed back on the issue...
