I prefer my Columbus over his raptor actually. With that big toy hauler it eats up a lot of living space

I just figured out (almost the hard way) that my digital "miles to Empty" isn't very accurate. Wife an I were coming home from a trip that we have done 20 times and have never even been close to running out of fuel. We hit some massive head winds, I didnt think that would affect the milage that much. Usually making this trip I have 1/4 tank left when I get to the fuel station. This time I had 4 miles left till E. Couldn't make it to the normal fuel station that accommodates large trucks and Rvs. My poor lil f250 only has a 26 gallon tank. Maybe someday when I get the money Ill add an axillary tank. Intill thank ill just carry an extra 5 gal fuel jug.

just got home from a long weekend in VA Beach. Going down, I got 9-9.5 mpg (hand calculated). We didnt have any toys in the back, so the rig was probably about 17k#. Heading home yesterday was a completely different story. We had a major headwind coming across the Bay Bridge Tunnel, the little computer was telling me we were getting about 6.5. It was very windy, and big swales, near the end of the bridge tunnel there were waves breaking about 200 feet from the bridge. After we hit land the computer mpg started to come up and by the time we stopped for fuel and I calc-ed it, it was 8.something, less then 8.5 though, probably 8.2 or so. I havent filled up yet, but the last leg of the trip, the computer was saying 8.0 mpg.
I noticed the DTE calc is slow to update, it goes off the last computed tank for a long time.

We just purchased a Solitude 377MBS that weighs 16K gross wt. So far only pulling it a little over 150 miles I'm getting 9.6 mpg @ 62 mph for most of the miles traveled. I can live with that!

nice looking rig, Don!
yeah, I forgot to add the speed detail to our equation. It varied through some towns and local highways, the speed limit was 45-70. So my max was about 72, generally 5 over the limit. The kicker is fighting the headwind getting 6.5ish mpg, only doing about 55.

Completely stock 2011 F450 with 4.30 gear ratio pulling my 2018 Cyclone 4005 I see 10.2 mpg calculated by hand. I average 73 to 76 mph with a GCVW of 31800 lbs. I'm getting ready to tune it with an H&S Mini Maxx so hope to see at least 1.5 to 2 more mpg.

We have the gas, 3/4 ton Lariat version of your truck in that same color scheme. We do have a fairly large Ranch Hand front guard on it though being in Texas.

See a few in one ton occasionally.. Nice rig dude.

Also should note that only the last 4 data points were during this trip. Also point was a fill up at return home. The previous 2were during trip and the previous to them (4th from last) was a fill up prior to departure. So the average you see on the bottom are not a true reflection. However what you can see is that I'm getting better then 10mpg which I'm very happy with.
