2015-2017 Mustang IRS on 70 F100?
Hello all, I have been looking for someone who has grafted a 2015-2017 Mustang rear IRS on to a 67-79 F100? I have studied and learned about the Mark VIII, Crown Vic front and rear, the front seems good compared to what is on the market and I have found pretty much all the new pieces except the front cross member. I know the Mustang rear IRS is more from a salvage but at least the parts are only a few years old. I have also checked out RideTechs rear coilovers for the 2015-2017 Mustang. I am trying to not have to raise the bed but not sure on all the measurements and also how high the shock mount would have to be and also the placement of it.
Anyway, just curious to try something different, I know a 4 link would be cheap but I would still need a newer rear end and coilovers to that would ad up quick. Also I will eventually put the 2015-2017 Coyote in so that is where the Mustang IRS comes in, just something different.

Keep us posted, I just picked mine up today.
The key takeaway from gofastgarage I got was getting to his preferred ride height. He didn’t want to cut the bed floor and ended up both significantly notching the frame, and then welding the mustang irs subframe to the f100 frame. I plan to maintain the functionality ford engineers designed with the mounts/bushings, and will do a large c-notch and build brackets from there

Bagging ira
I have a 59 f100 down to the frame. Plan is a fully independent suspension and modern drivetrain- and bagged. I’ve never done a set up like this before, but I’m learning as I go. CV ifs is mocked up and waiting it’s turn.
As for the irs, I’m following along GoFastGarage style of notching it into the frame. Still working on the gussets, but the frame is all notched. Rear subframe is trimmed back to the sway bar mount and still 1/4” wider than the frame. I’m planning to build the frame up around the notch and then plate over the subframe and notched area. Anyone have better ideas? I’m open to suggestions.
