i couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from. I thought it sounded like it was coming from the turbo at first, but that wouldn't cause it to slip.

Both the Transfer Case and the Rear Differential are easy to check.
Drain the oil and see what comes out. If you find fragments you have problems.

I'll take a look at the transfer case and differential when I get back home.
