I'm new to the forum, and this will be my first thread(so I hope I put this in the right section)
I'm currently a husband and father, but need a second vehical for my family. I know I want a Ford truck, I always have, and Ive had good experience in the past. My father used to lease an F150, which he used to pull our boat and a daily driver, my grandfather still has an early 2000 Ranger, which is a fun little truck, and I used to have an Explorer Sport track(the half truck.hah.)
Ive been doing a lot of research into early 2000's F250's and I think I have a very specific truck in mind come tax time when I'm looking to buy. I'm really just wanting to hear the good and the bad, personal experiences, opinions and overall thoughts on said truck:
My cousin, had one and I drove it, and absolutely loved it. Id like this truck to last me a long time and eventually should be used for pulling a boat, 5th Wheel and horse trailer.
Wicky, you can't go wrong with a Ford Super Duty. The question is, are you willing to pay a premium to find one in good condition? Or, can you do the required maintenance yourself?

I'm mostly looking at used trucks, dealership or from someone else. I know a little bit about working on cars, meaning the bare minimum a man should at least know to be called a man. But I have recently been thinking about going to school for mechanics and diesel mechanics. So I know that will help
I bought my IDI this summer. Before I purchased it I was mainly looking at 6.0L PS. The 7.3L PS has a better reputation, but everyone seems to know this. Therefore, the 7.3L PS I saw were either worked to death or out of my price range.
