I did search, but need more info on hub assembly

So a few months back I had a caliper seize. Thanks to the help on here I worked through that. But fast forward to now, the hub assembly on that side is shot. I am sure that the heat didn't help. Anyway, I have searched on here, I have read on here, I have looked at so many various options from cheaper to more expensive replacements out there. I was trying to follow the advice on here and stay with Timken or Moog. But this morning I ran across a set from 1A Auto. They are a site sponsor and I typically see good feedback on mainly mirrors and some lighting. The rep I usually see on here is Tony. So now my question, has anyone used these?

And also, any feedback with your real world personal experience with your replacement would be appreciated.

Thanks to all you wonderful people! Have a wonderful day!

A member by the name of Big56 recommended the place in the link below.

Wheel Bearings Inc

He had said that Timken was about as good as we can get, but some of their bearings were coming out of Mexico and China and were not up to the same quality as the ones being made in USA.

My right front bearing is squeaking a bit when turning left, so I will be calling them in the near future in order to get a set for my truck.

Yes sir, I found that in the search feature. I have been on there and looked. Thank you for the response! I will keep researching this one. Also been reading along on all your updates to your truck. You've definitely been busy! By chance were you ever stationed in the great state of Oklahoma?

I pride myself on keeping my mechanical and electrical belongings working in top order. Sometimes it gets the best of me though, but usually I win.

Let us know which route you take, especially if you decide to go with 1A Auto or Wheel Bearings Inc. Again, I will be making the same choices you are in the near future and will look back at this thread for advice.

I was stationed at Offutt AFB in NE for 2 years from 1995-1997 before going to Korea for a year. I have never lived in OK, but have been there many times. Been through OKC and to Tinker AFB more times than I can remember. Also, when I was in tech training at Sheppard AFB we used to travel up to OK to have some all you can eat crab legs and cold beer.

Man that was a long time ago...

I can't vouch for anything but Timken or Motorcraft, with my own personal experience, but have not tried 1A auto bearings or Wheel Bearings Inc myself. AZ used to carry Timken but someone here has said they are starting to not carry them anymore to push their own brand, which doesn't bother me too much - The less I have to deal with my local AZ ignorance the better. Besides I have found a local dealer of Timken that only deals with bearings.

I have hub assemblies from the Oreillys for the last 2yrs and have had no issues. They were Precision Hub assemblies part #515020. They had 3yr warranty.

What did the Irish hubs cost? My only $.02 is that $145 for a pair of hubs like that sounds cheap, too cheap. You get what you pay for...if you're lucky.

I agree the 145 price for the pair from 1A seems incredibly cheap compared to a known brand name. But, what is really interesting is they list lifetime warranty. There aren't very many hubs out there that I have found that are lifetime warranty. Now I also understand the warranty is only as good as the company behind it sometimes, so it is what it is. Also did some looking around on the brand of this hub, and 1A isn't the cheapest price out there for the same ones. But they are a site sponsor.

I didn't realize that was the price for the pair. Well, they are not as simple as the Dorman up-pipes, but maybe this is just one of those bargains that you get lucky with sometimes.

I believe 1A Auto has a good reputation, but I have never been a customer of theirs.

That's $200 each from O'Reilly. It also lists a 3 year warranty. And thank you for the feedback on your impression of the hubs you installed.

And I forgot how to tag someone, but don't know if 1Aauto would have any information about their hub assembly to share openly.
