Best way to fix this.... step plate???

Hello all. Here is a pic of the driver step plate on the truck I'm going to pick up later this week... will need to address these step plates... both sides look likes this pic of the one side. I am not a fan of diamond plate... not being a welder, how much is involved in replaceing these with new stamped steel plates? Anyone do it or have a "how to" or video posted?

Thanks... really not much out there regarding this part/fix... i was suprised

Although it is not really difficult to replace those, IMHO, it is not a piece to learn how to weld on. IMHO, either attend a local community college course on welding (including the lab) or find an old school welder who will show you, then practice.
