i recently spotted a F250 supercab 4x4 that has had a Pekins 6-354 swapped in with a NV-4500 five speed. The challenge appears fly is that with 4.10 gears the truck is not real highway worthy since the perkins is a low RPM diesel. 2800rpm max. But has gobs of low end grunt.
My my question has anyone else runs across these personally and what was the owners take? I have found a few on You Tube and they all rave about the lowend torque. But I don't know what gears they are running.
Thanks!!

A few specs are below. It was 120'ish HP with diesel torque. A good and long running engine. In a PU it would probably want a final drive ratio around 3.00 (w/o overdrive transmission). I guess performance would be comparable to a 300 I6 gas engine... with better economy and torque at low RPM.
