fuel pump lobe direction vs cam gear direction

I have a very simple, weird question:
With the cam gear at 0 degrees(crank at TDC , cam "0" mark down), which direction does the fuel pump lobe(fat part) face?

Why would it matter? I forget if they look any different from the one or two piece style on gas engines, but it should be installed such that it cannot rotate on the cam. Closed end toward the cam and open end toward the front. The eccentric ("fat part") faces out from the cam centerline.

OK, obviously I should explain myself better:

I know that it doesn't matter for the fuel pump, and only goes one way. I have a motor with the IP gear off of it, and I need to figure out if the engine is at 0 or 180. I can either pull the valve cover, mess with a glow plug and cranking it over... or just look at which way the lift pump cam is facing.

Because it's on the cam gear(and keyed in place), it will always point the same direction at the same # of degrees. So, if I find out that it's pointed, say, towards the passenger side at 0 degrees of cam timing, I can just look down and see it. If it's pointed towards the passenger side, I'm at 0. If it's driver's side, I'm at 180.

Make any sense?

So, to clarify, I just need to know what angle the fat part of the lobe (roughly) is, with the cam gear at 0 degrees of rotation(0 facing down, Y facing up I believe)

If O is on top your 180 out if y is on top your at Tdc, lobe appears to be around 1 o'clock, are you sure the lobe is keyed and not just sandwiched in place?
