Rust on Escape

Ive seen posts about this already that were somewhat dated so I wanted to revisit the subject. I’ve been reading that rust on the rear fenders of Ford Escapes seem to be a common problem. I have a 2011 garage kept Escape showing rust already. Has anybody experienced this issue? I’ve also read that Ford won’t do anything about it.

Garage-kept - I've never kept a car in a garage in 30yrs, its a complete mis-benefit in my opinion, it simply means a wet car will stay a damp car longer, out in the air it will dry off the undercarriage much faster.

Sorry no idea if Ford will fix rust on a 6yr old Escape, best to ask?

I had the rear wheel arches replaced in my 2008 Escape earlier this Summer. The Escape had been Ziebarted originally but the arches rusted through. A shop recommended by my local Ford dealer welded in the new Sherman arches - did a great job. I had it rustproofed by a local Kroil dealer afterward. There's a thread on it here, on page 2 I think.

I'm the third owner, bought the Escape this year. It's spent its whole life in salt-encrusted Western New York State, Buffalo area. No major issues, actually no issues at all...yet...

I just look at it as part of owning a Ford. Ive never owned one that didn't start to rust in just a couple of years. It didn't matter if they were garage kept and babied or ones that I drove in snow and salt and never washed. They all rusted through in no time.
