diesel low mileage, oil/filter change questions

Got a SuperDuty diesel at the beginning of April. We do not drive it frequently, and only just passed 2500 miles on Tuesday. So six and half months == 2500 miles. Was looking in the manual at oil change schedule, and I could not find a recommended age between oil changes. All of the cars I have owned, their manuals would have a mileage OR six months.

I thought I saw Ford SuperDuty manual say to not let any of the maintenance items age beyond twelve months. Does that apply to a low mileage oil / filter change schedule?

Even if I go ahead and change it now, is it worth changing the filter at 2500 miles? Seems like just changing the oil is needed.

I am pretty sure the manual says if the intelligent oil indicator hasn't lit up by 12 months, you should change the oil.

No...not worth changing the oil at 2500, especially at $100+ a pop for an oil change. Wait until the truck tells you to do so; but like the previous poster said,I wouldn’t exceed a year with normal driving.

To each their own... I agree with the above, if you haven't reached the interval in 12 months, then go ahead and change it.

I am in the same boat, looking around last night all I could find was wait until the truck tells me to change the oil.

I’d change it every year at a minimum, but I’ve always changed my oil on a schedule that some would deem as unnecessary. I have over 1 million miles across 5 vehicles and with 5000 mile change intervals, zero engine or wear issues to date. There is no way I’m going to rely on an algorithm to tell me when to change my oil. It will be a max of every 7500 for me with a new SD. Also, when a vehicle is depreciating at a minimum of $300 a month, probably closer to $500, are you really worried about $100 oil changes twice a year?
