Curb Weight and GVW of 1954 F-100

Does anyone out there know the curb weight and GVW of a 1954 F-100, short bed, 6 cylinder, stock? I need it for titling and the truck isn't driveable yet.

According to "Ford Pick Up Trucks " by Paul G. McLaughlin ( a great little book if you can find it -

The 6 1/2' pick ups came with three different gross vehicle ratings.

Gross vehicle weight rating = 4000 lbs
Curb weight = 3220 lbs
Payload = 780 lbs

Gross vehicle weight rating = 4400
Curb weight = 3230
Payload = 1170

Gross vehicle weight rating = 5000
Curb weight = 3282
Payload = 1718

All above curb weights are for the 6 cylinder.
For the V8 add 100 lbs but deduct same from the payload.

Later,

I prefer the official specs right from Henry.
GVW for the 6 cyl AND V8 is 4800 in 1954. In 55 it went to 5000 for both.

If you happen to have the little metal tag rivited onto the inside of the glove box door, I think it has the GVW rating stamped on it.

Take it with you to the county. They love to see this kind of stuff, and will give it more credibility than info you have recieved on the web. (However, the above answers I think are 100% correct.)

While on the weight subject. What exactly does "curb weight" mean. I assume empty of all passengers and cargo, with all fluids full to include fuel???

Yes 'fenders, that is correct. I believe it may also be called lading weight and probably a host of other equally creative phrases.
