That color matching is pretty sweet, I got the linex mostly so I wouldn't slip and fall in the painted bed. Was very slippery when we prior to the linex. Never had a rhino, but if it's a bit softer I could see the appeal.

I id this on my truck and the morons at Line-x didn't remove the bed bolts. They said Ford says not too. Now I have to get the hitch in the truck and figure out how to get the coating off the bolts and from around them...that's what I get for trying to be smart!

I have the Line-x and love it. While getting some accessories at Ziebart, (who installs Rhino), the saleslady showed me a truck they had just done... she said they just bought new equipment to use the new version of Rhino. It looked identical to Line-x...

Not sure about the durability of the "new formula" . I'd ask.

thats why alot of the shops wont coat the bolts.. theyll tape over or some how cover them to prevent spraying them.. the bolts on these trucks (least from the 1st gen SD and newer) that hold the beds on are similar to the head bolts on the 6.0's. theyre supposed to be 1 time use Torque To Yield bolts.. thats why ford recommendation is to replace anytime theyre removed... this much i have been able to confirm.. what i havent been able to confirm is the rumor they supposedly also use thread locker on the ends of the bolts as well.

but i wasnt referring to the bed bolts with my post where you highlighted.. i was referring to the OP wishes to have a 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch installed after the bed was lined... if they installed it first.. then remove the hitch prior to taking it in, the edges of the newly drilled holes would be coated by the bed liner to protect it.. (would also advise going slightly wider on the holes if your doing it yourself as the liner will recover some of that space. if not you may end up redrilling and defeating the purpose of having the liner coat the holes) then they could reinstall the hitch after the beds been coated..

I know Sparky,

I was referring to just that. I drilled my holes for the puck system, sent it off to the liner and it came back with the bed bolts coated.

I see several pictures here of trucks with the liner and their bolts clearly aren't coated. I'm just a little upset is all, sorry to derail the thread.

There's a reason why it's a 150 dollars cheaper. The quality isn't as good as the Line X.

not worries... i thought you mistook what i was meaning. it just happened the other way around lol.

sometimes i think thats just more on the lazyness of the shop that they end up doing that.. they dont realize how much of a pain it can be to deal with it later.

Nor do they care. I called them and asked the question and told them about the over spray and it was a total not schalont reaction.

I had Line X in my 2006 PSD and it held up well for the 11 years I had it.
Nothing else to compare it to...
Well see how the Ford liner holds up.

I wouldn't have high expectations about the OE Ford liner. The dealer gave me an F150 for a couple days while they repainted my front bumper that got scratched during shipping. The bed liner was very thin was already chalkie with 2k on the ODO

Yea the Ford liner sucks. Very thin layer they spray on and mentioned before it becomes chalky after a short period of time.

I've settled on Line-X but am on the fence about the color match. I have a 1990 F-250 in white. Has anyone done the color match in white? I'm wondering how it will look after a couple years. Any fading or yellowing? Will be going over the rails with this so want to make sure the color will hold up over time.

Thanks!

LOL, I beg to differ. I'd argue its because the labor is cheaper 50 miles south of San Jose.
