Warbling noise RT front, not IWE grinding noise
I am posting this for my Father. 2012 SCREW, 4x4, 5.0, 65K
The iwe's have been replaced again (3rd set) but there is still an issue in the rt front. There is a warbling noise when driving and is especially noisy between 15-25 MPH. It sounds like maybe a bad CV axle but the current one only has...maybe 5K miles. I retested the IWE's because I did not replace them myself, Ford did the work. The IWE's both hold vacuum and all the lines check good.
I did find an issue but I'm not sure what's causing it. With vacuum on the IWE, I turn the rt front wheel and the axle turns so it appears the hub is locked. I do the same on the Left front and the hub is disengaged and the axle does not turn...as expected. So what could the problem be? Was the IWE installed properly? Could it be the hub or CV axle? What can I do to isolate the cause? I'm at a loss!!!
