Anyone regret the longbed?

I had a chance to take a cclb out yesterday for about an hour. I ran it through some places I usually have to tow and make u turns, park etc. I’d say 75% of the time, no issues. There were some tight spots, especially where I store the boat and trailer, that maneuvering to back in will be challenging. The ride is incredibly smooth with the long bed compared to my 2011 ccsb. I tow a fishing boat which sits on a 35’ long triple axle trailer, weighs about 11-12k total. I like the advantages of a long bed for the extra space, but am starting to have second thoughts that I will experience some significant downsides in tight areas and when off road. So, all you cclb guys, especially those who came from a ccsb, are you happy, do you have regrets, are there any unforseen disadvantages you have discovered? Thanks

I've owned a longed since 2006 and definitely do not regret it. The extra length makes it nice when hauling items in your bed or if you plan to install a toolbox or auxiliary fuel tank. You will drive it on road a lot more than you will offroad if that is one of your concerns...I will never go back to a short bed again

If you want a dually, you can have the best of both worlds. My F450 turns tighter than a SRW short bed. After daily driving my 22'4" long bed for 11k miles, I'd definitely go long again. They ride nicer, tow better, and come with a huge fuel tank. (Not knocking the short bed trucks, just sharing my preference.

I’ve driven a CCLB since ‘06
The only time I regret the LB is parking in big cities and real tight drive through...

Not one bit, did not need 4 doors any more so I went with a super cab long bed, owned a F150 crew cab with the 5 1/2 foot bed for 10 years, my first ever short bed and swore I would never buy another short bed. More room, especially when hauling lumber or other materials. Took off work one day and had to wait 3 hours to pick up a load of drywall for a home project once with my old truck because it was raining. That one day made the decision for the rest of my life.

I had one for a year, since I swap trucks every spring. Loved it going forwards, hated it backing into camping spots.

Im in the Bay Area also, and even my SB can be difficult. Of course I daily drive a 4runner, so its not common to deal with. I am concerned a lot about maneuvering and backing my boat trailer, enough so I am second guessing myself even though many times I’ve said Id never buy a short bed again.

My 17 is my first Long bed. I have just over 17,000 km on it and about 5500 km of that towing my TT. The box capacity is the best, room for tool box and fuel tanks if needed. The ride is better with a long box. The fuel tank is also an added bonus. Regretted the short bed so swore I wouldn't do that again. A few more two point turns is worth the price of admission. And I park at work everyday several times. Back up camera is the best. If your worried about it, get the 360 cameras. I love this truck and other than adding the 360 cameras and the high mount camera which I can do later, I have absolutely no regrets.

Love my long bed, chose it when I placed my order. Big truck, big cab, big engine........long bed of course. Its a personal thing for most, I've had cclb's for 25 years, you get used to it, some parking restrictions but well worth it.

Another benefit of the long bed is the larger fuel tank.

Had a '15 F250 CCSB. Decided to get a '17 350 CCLB for the bigger tank, no need for a slider hitch, more room for stuff. I daily drive it and park in a parking garage. With the long bed, I have to park on roof, out of the way of others as it sticks out into the aisle and I'm convinced someone will hit me. I can't park in a single spot at any store. Overall, no regrets. Haven't towed yet.

I've had my crew cab DRW long bed 4000 miles now as my daily driver and I haven't had any significant problems. In fact, now that I'm used to it I don't really notice it any more.

I did the opposite, my 2010 f350 was a longbed and really didn’t like it cause of the turning, parking, and looks. And now especially on the 2017 the SRW with longbeds just look really bad. WAY to long for a SRW plus parking I bet is worse. Just my opinion though.

I'll never own another truck with a short bed, I do truck stuff with my truck. At least the Ford short bed is longer than 6'. I wouldn't have a 4.5-5.5 bed even if those "trucks" were free.

For utilitarian purposes the long bed is awesome. Aesthetically speaking I think the SCLB looks the best.
