LB

I have a '18 CCLB now, and have had various models of CCLB's since 1999. I've never had any issues getting where I wanted to go, or any parking issues because of my length (height is a different issue, garages can be challenging).

Also, as was posted earlier, a LB is only 16" longer than a SB. Not a big difference, but much more versatile.

That's a GREAT idea.

I have had a 2017 CCLB for about 2 months now. It replaced a 2012 Expedition EL. The Expedition was actually ridiculously easy to park and maneuver, especially for it's size. The CCLB does require more planning when parking in some lots and I have had to forgo the occasional U-turn. The difference in turning radius is quite noticeable in real world driving (22 feet vs. 29.8). I can't compare it to a driving a CCSB, though. Another potential negative (possibly a positive for many of you) is that my wife refuses to drive it...which limits who can use which vehicle at which time.

All in all, I'd say there is definitely an adjustment in getting used to it for a daily driver. But I appreciate the additional capacity when it's needed.

Incidentally, I did not actually select the long bed because it was a long bed, I selected it because it was a good deal. I had no preference when I was shopping.

No regrets here. Sure I'd like the sharper turning radius and better chance to landing a shorter parking slot. With all that said, the better ride and most importantly for me the better tow outweighs the above.

Long bed rules! (with us tow jockies).

The 176" WB helps smooth out the ride plus gives me more room when hooked up to the 5th wheel. I live out in the country so not much in the way of traffic. 48 gallon fuel tank is a nice bonus.

No regrets from ccsb to F450

Hi

I went from a 2015 f350 ccsb to a 2017 f450. I can get the f450 around easier with the wide track front axle. This is the truck I should have bought in the first place. I learned to buy more truck than you think that'll need.

Good of luck with your desicion

Eric

I have the cclb drw. As stated already, you have to plan more. And some u-turns are curb hoppers. But, if you also get the 360 camera, it takes the guess work out of it. Pull in or back in is much more precise when you are new to it.

I used to call it a progressive disease....

1st it was a mini-truck
next it was a '93 Ranger (long bed)
next it was a '96 f150 xtra cab (short bed)

3 kids who weren't getting smaller meant -

next it was a '04 f350 crew cab, 4wd, long bed....

no kids at home and we refuse to go smaller....so its

'17 f350 CCLB 4wd...because I'm getting bigger (around the middle).

I was getting a CCSB but after reading this thread, I'm going CCLB. I like the extra fuel capacity, only cost $200 more than a SB, more room in the bed with the fifth hooked up too will be nice, great points made and no regrets that I can see.
Thanks all, great thread.

AND....If you want to add more fuel capacity or range tank to tank you can do it...less expensively (and take the tank to the next truck or sell it later).

Only reason for a sb is if a long bed won't fit in the garage.
