Turn signal switch wiring

I purchased a new turn signal switch which includes all the wiring to try to sort out my issues however when I receive the parts from national parts Depot the colors of the wires are different and there is an extra wire that I don’t have on the one that I took off. Does anyone happen to have a diagram going into the eight pin connector showing which wire goes to what. Issues that the reproduction ones and true fashion are different colored wires and so even though I can go off of the one that I pulled out I still have an extra wire and I’m not sure which one it goes

Maybe you got the wrong switch. What part number did you receive?

Ok so I physicall traces the wires and got them correct... basically after getting them all hooked up what I believe to be correct we are at the same place as before buying the new switch.... the passenger lamp functions 100% brake, running, and turn signal..... and we still have the same issue on the drivers side: dual filament stays on all the time as if I’m depressing the brakes, turn doesn’t work. Interesting to note that I didn’t notice before is that when you pull the emergency flashers, the indicator bulb on the drivers side clicks and lights up but the actual tail bulb still doesn’t function. I’m about to splice the driver side into the passenger and run without turn signals I’m getting so frustrated with this.

worth noting. My parking lights up front are not hooked up or grounded. That should be bother this issue should it?

You've got the wrong switch friend. Start with getting the same one that you originally had and then go from there. Don't open up a new can of worms.

I also ordered the incorrect switch. But since the number of wires were correct, I just pulled up the two diagrams, matched function of the new switch wire to the original harness, removed the pins and put them where I needed them.

The switch from NPD is wrong, one less wire. I made this mistake before getting the correct one from DC.

What is wrong about it I don’t understand the only thing different is the fact that it has an extra horn line which they stated to pin into an empty whole. Even according to the video that was posted below which I will re-watched that is what they suggest to do. I think the problem has to be somewhere else because if I put in a brand new switch on I am physically tracing each wire to its proper point based on the factory diagram wiring and I’m still having a constant brake light on the driver side I have to have a wire issue outside of the turn signal switch. Does no one agree with that?

I read on another thread last night on here if that if your parking lights upfront are not functioning properly that would also cause issues because of power draw?

The fronts need to work as well. It will complete the circuit. I have seen an 1157 bulb jammed into the socket backwards thus the large filament stays lit.
