Hi all,

I have a tranny issue with my 05 mazda tribute, AWD, and am looking to swap it out. Tributes are not as easy to find in the local pick-and-pull yards, and I can get my hands on numerous Escapes. My question is: Are the transmissions and transfer cases on these two vehicles interchangable? I see in most of my research that 2001 - 2007 escapes are mostly the same other than body styles. What about the tranny? Can I put an AWD 04 - 06 or 07 escape tranny and transfer case into my 05 Mazda AWD tribute. I have a V6, 2.3L if it makes a difference.

Thats the first thing to get right, you have a V6 <or> a 2.3L (which is most definitely a 4 cyl...)

I believe the V6's of that era have the same tranny, Tributes and Escapes, no idea about the 2.3
