Job 1, Job 2, Job 3... Please Explain...

OK, so following this forum for a while it is obvious that they have different "versions" of the same model year truck which Ford differentiates by different Job #'s. However though lots of searching I really don't fully understand this process, I have some questions hopefully someone can help clear up.

1. How do you know which job # truck you have? (Is it documented anywhere say on the window sticker, etc.)
2. How many job #'s can there be/how many typically are there per model year?
3. Can/does Ford ever go an entire model year with one job number?
4. Does Ford document the changes between Job #'s, or is that up to forum members to compare/contrast?
5. Does Ford advertise/acknowledge job number changes?
a. Before the change occurs?
b. After the change occurs?
6. Are job number changes typically held to correct issues, or does Ford ever include say feature updates during a job number change. (eg. adding wifi)
7. How drastic of changes have occurred in the past for job # changes?

Thanks so much, this Job number change stuff is very foreign to me, and I can't seem to find any good info on the details behind them.

Josh

Here is a older 2011 thread that talks about the different Job #'s. Don't know enough about them either to know if this is still correct or not. Hopefully someone will let us know exactly what it is and how to tell what "Job #" our truck is.

The easieat way to think about it is if a package in the ordwr guide changes, the job # will change.

This is just an example, not a real change. Ford decides to not include LED fog lights going forward rather it is a separate option, you will see that on a different job #.

I remember on Job 2 trucks, the 3" hitch wasn't included in all trucks.. some went down to a 2.5".

Mine came in same day. Wonder why you are a job 3 and mine is a job 1 ?
Wish we could get clarification on this.

If you're talking about a 2017 super duty and it was built on or before October 2016 then you have a job 1 truck. They haven't made any Job 3 2017 super duty's.

Is it a 2016 or 2017 super duty?

Mine was built on October 7th, 2017. I plainly saw, with my own eyes, the Job 3 on the options list on the day of delivery. You can be wrong, itíll be ok.
