New F350 6.7

I live in Colorado. Temps get down to 0 to -10. Do I need to use a cold weather fuel additive?

depends on if the station you buy from actually has it already in, most will advertise winter fuel. Personally, I add it as the potential interrupt in my day from being gelled up would really suck.

In Colorado we get a winter formulation of Diesel. -10 might be the lower range for going without an additive. The Motorcraft PM-23 will do the job.

I have not had issues going down to -10 with the truck sleeping outside. The few times it gets into the -20s up in the hills, then yeah, you'll want to keep some anti-gel on you....the truck may not fully gel, but you will get a DTC for the fuel system. I got that on the 2012 after it sat outside overnight in -27. Still had full power of the truck, albeit it was not happy about the temps.

I don't use winter additive until it goes below 10 degrees. I would use it at those temperatures.

The Motorcraft stuff works well. At those temps it would not be a bad idea to carry a bottle of it around with you.

Also dump the factory oil. It is probably 10-30 dino and go with a synthetic. A lot of us were running rotella T6. Some switched because of the new formulations but T6 is approved again.

For those of you in the chilly north how do you add anti-gel when it's colder than a well-digger's ***?

PM-23 Label states the following:

Anti-Gel must be added to the fuel above its cloud point of 15°F (-9°C), if added below this temperature the additive will not work properly.

I have used Fords winter additive down to -42 and have had zero problems.
I realize we are also using winter blend but for the price why not.
