Just another day in paradise and another old Ford. Hauled out of the trees where it was driven in 19 years ago.
I shall call it Ilean

So many trucks, so little time. I'm on a quest to hoard as many 57-60s as I can afford, lol. Well those, 40-47s and now 80s ones too it seems.
This one was driven into the trees 19 years ago. Still all there and a spare 223 and 4 speed laying in the back. It and the last 59 were a package deal.

I really only wanted the 59 Custom Cab but had to take this. I didn't really NEED another April Green 4x4 and thought I would sell this one off. But you know how it goes when you get one home, plans start seeping in. I think I can justify keeping it with a plan. Get it running and stopping, take it to my nieces ranch where I like to hunt rocks and use it to get down through the river brakes and to the good rock hunting spots.

Alright, I am convinced. Of course I was before the plan!

I have a few gems but not so many nice ones. The war dept. said one day, "I didn't know I married a collector"! My reply was "well, you do now".

If you move them around once in a while, you can sneak a new one in when she isn't home.

I'm lucky to have endless storage at my nephew's ranch. I have 9 out there now.

Nice score. Is it just me or do those two shifters look different than stock? The trans shifter looks like a couple extra bends and the t-case is really tall? Just asking.

4x4 shifter has been heated and bent in a couple places. Data plate shows it was originally a 3 speed to this tranny isn't original either.

I have three on the road and 4 off so I guess I will live but, there is a 65 4x4 down over the hill at the neighbors I would love to tear into.

I'll give you fifty bucks for the cab corners but you will have to cut them out and ship them to me......

Nice find.....

Even in this area, only about one out of ten have cab corners good enough to cut out. They were driven on dirt. gravel and no roads so dirt collected in there and behind the front fender brace.
I don't remember how good they are on this 60, not bad I suppose or I would have noticed. My 59 driver has a few small holes and my 59 parts truck has no holes. If I find a truck I want to cut up that has good ones, I'll let you know. I have a 60 F250 custom cab to revisit and see if the owner came down off his price from a few years ago. I remember the body was pretty beat up and it has a crappy flatbed. But has a round radio.

Not perfect, but it looks great to me! That's what I wish my truck was like. My grill is all bashed in, and it's not a 4x4. Nice find.
