No Sound

I am installed a Sony CDX G1200U Stereo in a 1997 Ford F 250 HD. The truck has a Premium Sound Amplifier. The stereo turns on but there is no sound. I used a Metra 70-5511 Wire Harness. I have checked all the Fuses. I connected the Blue wire to the red one and still no sound.What am I doing wrong?

Well, guess the question is, is the Metra 70-5511 Wire Harness compatible with the Premium sound amplifier. Last radio I installed in the 97 I just bypassed the Premium Amp, not very good anyway and used the new radio internal amp. The wiring harness purchased was for power side only, not speaker side. Had to tap into the speaker wires from output of new radio.

Even doing all that I still had no sound but it was setup thing on the new radio, can't remember exactly what as they are all different. Never heard of anyone using the Premium Sound Amp with a newer style radio, but I'm sure it's doable.

It's just an amp so there is no reason you can't use the stock one. The problem is it is a headache to use for little to no gain.

Try to bypass it and see if you can get noise.
