I got the screws out, but there are two plastic clips on either side. How do I release them without breaking them? 2017 Edge 2.0 Eco-boost engine.

 

I found out you have to push up on the shield and pull the center part out to release the clips. Even though the clip are probably designed to keep the shield from falling on you, I'm going to remove them first next time. Also the Dealer doesn't sell just the clips, you have to buy the entire shield. So I'll probably be re-engineering this in the future.
