I was looking over my truck making an assessment on exactly what sheet metal parts I will need and step plates are definitely on the list. Of the many places that offer step plates, who do you recommend for quality and accuracy (i.e. cost vs quality)? I prefer USA made products too.
Plus, for those who have done this job replacing steps before, what are the do's, don'ts and whished you would've dones?

 

I want to add to my initial question, will it be easier to replace with new rockers and kick plates vs trying to use the old ones? My rockers look really good but for those who have experience in doing this, is it more of a pain to salvage the old parts?

I'd like to resurrect this post... in that I too will be needing to repair rust holes in step plates on both sides... not a fan of diamond plate... whats the best way to remove and replace the step plates... truck has exterior paint, interior not done yet.

Saw some American made replacements... no videos on anyone who had done the repair...
