After market power locks and windows
I have a '99 F-350 xl with no power windows, power locks and rear speakers. I know the speakers and locks are pre wired by Ford (cause I've taken door pannels off) I'm not sure about the power windows. If someone could tell me anything from a manual to how to do it and what parts to buy I would aprechate (sp?) it greatly.
Thanks,
Dan

autoloc.com sells power window kits you can buy that are easy to install. imo, If the factory harness is not there and you are asking how to do it, you do not want to do it No insult intended.
It is just a lot of work and a lot of money, even from the junk yard, to revise the factory setup. I have fixed many Ford power windows and wiring and it can be a pain tracking down just one crimped wire.
At the junkard they are going to charge you $80 a piece at the junkyard just for the motors. Then you need the switches, which if it is in a junkyard is usually junk because it has been sitting open to the weather and dirt. About $100 just for the switches for the L&R door from Ford. Then you need all the other hardware too. Then you have to splice the harness in. That is not the tough part, the tough part is the harness is sort of set into a molded plug and it is very tougth to poke a hole in it and run your wires through it for the power window. Unless you get the TAEC (how ever it is spelled) set up that uses little pop up buttons to transfer power from the pillar to the door.
The autoloc kit is about $300 for brand new stuff with aharness.

Electric-life power windows are the best aftermarket windows.
they replace the factory mechanism exactly and offer several switches.
I found mine at www.bought4less.com when I shopped for an AC system

Did both to my 85 350 crew. Locks from partsexpress.com, kit for about $40.00 and fairly easy. Windows where from junk yard at $40.00 ea, motor and lift. Wiring and switches from marine salvage company local at about $25.00. Window switches were placed in oak custom center console I built. Door panels where covered with fabric after completion, also made a nice upgrade. All in all it took some time put not too much $ and works well.

Have had Spal pw &pdl's in our bronco for 6 yrs and have had no problems. The Spal hd dl's clunk lound enough to hear them ock/unlock from about 40ft away so the annoying horn beep isn't needed.
Also, Spal has switches that are same size and shapes as oem ford; FYI our's mount in dash in unused 4x4 switch area.
