4.6 liter Engine tick or knock after briefly losing oil pressure
Was traveling down the road yesterday and the check gages appeared on my Dash I looked I had lost all oil pressure. I pulled over to the side of the interstate and the oil pressure came back up everything else seemed fine I went ahead and went on home when I got home the old pressure drop again for about 30 seconds and then came back up and now I have a knock almost like a diesel sound coming from my motor. It's a 2008 F-150 4.6 with 170,000 miles on it I changed the oil just to see if there's any metal flakes or anything it was clean. It holds Good oil pressure now it doesn't smoke, I haven't lost power... everything is great except for this annoying tick or knock. People have said it could be timing chain I've heard oil pressure sensor, I've heard bottom end is shot out ....so any advice someone can you give me directions to try and get this problem figured out would be greatly appreciated

I have the 5.4 but I would guess your oil pu screen getting clogged
Drop the oil pan and clean screen out . On the 5.4 the guides break and jam the oil pu so I would guess a similar problem. You must have tensioners on chains that's what causes a big problem on the 5.4 ,plastic tensioners that blow out seals causing low oil pressure and guides to break .
If your screen jammed you will need to get timing cover off .
