So I got tired of my faded plastic moldings...
As we all know our trucks are not getting any younger...just better! . Every once in a while our trucks are running so good we can focus on the little things that typically we have to overlook for other priorities. Well, this weekend I had some time to focus on those little things that bug me about my truck but are relatively low on importance scale.
One of those things is the faded tired looking plastic moldings on my truck. So for about $10, and about 30 minutes of my time I decided to do something about it. Here's a couple pictures of what I was dealing with:

I've tried many products both on my Truck and my Jeep, all with limited effects. Well, with some research I tried something new that looks very promising...time will tell how long it lasts. It's call Penetrol or Flood, it's used to thin paint so you don't have brush strokes. I applied it with a .99 foam brush and the results are initially impressive.

Upon application, before it dries, it's very sticky so make sure it's damp outside i.e. Dust free or not windy, the last thing you'd want is everything coated in dust. Obviously, you want everything clean and dry before applying it.
Note When doing vertical areas, like door handles etc, keep the brush as "dry" as possible, so it doesn't drip. I have one door handle that has a drip dried into it, I'm going to try a touch it up when it warms up a bit.

Here's the product I use for the black plastic bits to restore them back to their original glory. I discovered it while looking for something that would "brighten" up the faded black plastic/abs parts on our bikes. It is called Engine Brightener (S100), you spray it on and then smooth it out with a clean rag. It can be found at Harley-Davidson dealers.
This stuff really works awesomely.
