I've always found what I needed in older posts, y'all are amazin... but couldn't locate info on this little problem. I purchased rear fender brackets and they don't seem to line-up so well. Could anyone post a photo of how they've mounted the replacement brackets forward of the rear wheel? The replacement parts don't marry-up well with the edge of the fender or the bottom of the bed.

Curiously DC representative told me they didn't have this part, so I purchased from NPD. It arrived wrapped one plastic bag inside another. The inner bag marked, "MADE IN CHINA" - the outer bag had a DC label with part # BAAA-16340-A, with a NPD label over that with part # F-16340-1.

I assume your 1969 F100 is a Flareside...

2) BAAA-16340-A .. Rear Fender Brace / Reproduced

1953/56 F100/350.
----------
2) B7C-16340-A .. Rear Fender Brace - bent channel type - 15" developed length - lower rear fender to frame / Obsolete

1957/72 F100/350 Flaresides.

I don't know if this has been reproduced. No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

 

Thanks for the quick reply...and the bad news that I bought parts for the wrong truck. UGH. Sounds like it's obsolete, and the u-pull places I've been to only have the welded in place and/or severely damaged.

I think it's fabrication time.

The parts you bought (and the part numbers I listed) are for a Flareside. Stylesides do not have rear fenders, they have quarter panels (bedsides).

On a closely related note, if someone needs FENDER braces for their flareside....there's almost no point paying the shipping to return to NPD.
